The Martin DMX 5.3 Splitter is the most economical protection for DMX controllers and devices. The main purpose of the Martin 5.3 Splitter is to maintain proper data over long or several runs of DMX signal. The Splitter boosts the weak DMX signal to its original output level before it becomes too low to be read from DMX devices. Disruption of DMX is often caused by bad cables or bad connections. The Martin DMX 5.3 Splitter will help to rectify the signal.
Through fully individual isolated input and 5 outputs, the Martin DMX 5.3 Splitter will protect your DMX controller and DMX fixture against voltage surge on the data line. Ground loops are common in complex lighting setups and such problems can create errors in the DMX data. The Martin 5.3 Splitter will help to prevent such situations.
Another common issue with DMX communication is reflection caused by long lines, too many connections, or too many devices on the same line, etc. The Martin DMX 5.3 Splitter will prevent such reflection by dividing the load over several outputs and therefore making shorter lines with less connections and devices.
Data monitoring
While the DMX signal runs through the Martin 5.3 Splitter, a microprocessor decodes and monitors the signal. If an error is detected on the DMX line, the Splitter will illuminate an error LED.
