Martin Controller RDM 5.5 Splitter

The Martin RDM 5.5 Splitter is the perfect companion to any controller or DMX/RDM device. The main purpose of the Martin 5.5 Splitter is to maintain proper data over long or several runs of DMX signal. The Splitter boosts the weak DMX signal to its original output level before it becomes too low to be read by DMX devices. Disruption of DMX is often caused by bad cables or bad connections. The Martin RDM 5.5 Splitter will help to rectify the signal.
Through fully individual isolated input and 5 outputs, the Martin RDM 5.5 Splitter will protect your DMX controller and DMX fixture against voltage surge on the data line. Ground loops are common in complex lighting setups and such problems can create errors in the DMX data. The Martin 5.5 Splitter will help to prevent such situations.
Another common issue with DMX communication is reflection caused by long lines, too many connections, or too many devices on the same line, etc. The Martin RDM 5.5 Splitter will prevent such reflection by dividing the load over several outputs and therefore making shorter lines with less connections and devices.
Data monitoring
While the DMX signal runs through the Martin 5.5 Splitter, a microprocessor decodes and monitors the signal. If an error is detected on the DMX line, the splitter will illuminate an error LED.
RDM Data
RDM (Remote Device Management) is the newly adopted standard in DMX transmission. RDM is a protocol that allows bidirectional communication between RDM capable fixtures and controllers. Most DMX splitters will not allow such data traffic to be processed.
